why art
"I believe in action and activity. The brain learns best and retains most when the organism is actively involved in exploring physical sites and materials and asking questions to which it actually craves answers. Merely passive experiences tend to attenuate and have little lasting impact."

Art Camp

Summer is a great time for kids to stir up their creative juices. For the sixteenth year in a row, Wendy Merryman is cooking up four, terrific weeks full of inspired Art Camp projects.

Artstew art camp is very popular, fast paced & fun! The camps challenge children as they are given a variety of media to manipulate with creativity. The media varies from year to year but always proves to be interesting for children up to their teenage years. The cost is $140 per week and includes supplies, drinks and snacks.

Whendy is an artist, art therapist and teacher, who loves working with children. Her summer Art Camps held during the past years have been a great success. Whendy looks forward to this year’s camps being the best yet.

Art Camp groups usually range from 20 to 34 children. Whendy staffs her camps accordingly. Children are grouped by ages, allowing them to receive age-specific help; it also allows them to learn from and inspire one another.

Whendy has held Art camp for more than fifteen years and she designs childrens' projects that accomodate a mixed age group from age six on up to teenagers as well. The camp is an exciting experience designed for a larger group and is always staffed to make sure that every child receives the appropriate assistance.
